ACTIVITIES   MIRAFLORES GOLF CLUB Miraflores has its own 18-hole golf course, which is available for use by the public (dependant of course on availability). This course runs through the valley which is in front of our apartment and is just a 5 minute walk away. There are many 'world class' international courses a short driving distance away, with a further 40 golf clubs or so within a 1 hour drive of the complex. We have provided a list of nearby golf courses, brief descriptions and telephone numbers in an 'Information Pack' that is kept in the apartment. Golfing in Miraflores   FORMULA 1 RACING (CADIZ) If you are a follower of Formula 1 and Grand Prix Racing, this apartment is about an hours drive for commuting to the racing events. Formula 1 Grand Prix Racing   SPLASH PARK (Fuengirola) There is a water / splash park in Fuengirola. This is about a 10-minute drive along the coast road towards Malaga. This park is suitable for all ages. There is also a castle and a large indoor shopping mall called Marimar at Fuengirola. LOCAL PLACES OF INTEREST   BEACHES AND LOCAL RESORTS... MARBELLA AND PUERTO BANUS The apartment is a 10-15 minute drive west along the main coast road to Marbella, where you can enjoy the lovely beach front with it's cafes and promenade. Take a visit to the renowned Oranage Square and explore the many tree lined roads around the town. Just outside Marbella is the world-renowned resort of Puerto Banus, the holiday playground of the rich and famous. It has a stunning marina and it famous for it's many boutiques, restaurants, bars and nightlife. Marbella and Puerto Banus CABOPINA BEACH AND MARINA This absolutely stunning family beach is less than a 5-minute drive from the apartment complex along the coast road towards Marbella. It has very fine, soft sand and is dotted with beautiful palm trees. There are facilities at this beach to enjoy some water sports, plus there's beach restaurants and a little shop that sells ice-cream and drinks. There are areas of neatly lined sunbeds with tables and straw parasols that can be hired out on a daily basis. To the eastern side of the beach is Cabopino's little marina, with a number of high quality but reasonably priced, restaurants and bars. This is a lovely, friendly place to go day or night and is known locally as the area's best kept secret. Cabopino Beach and Marina LA CALA BEACH AND RESTAURANTS The beautiful coastal village of La Cala is a 5-minutes drive along the coast road in the other direction - east towards Malaga. It is a lovely village with a long beach and pretty paved pavements with many different kinds of restaurants to try. It also has an excellent market on a Wednesday and Saturday morning each week. BENALMEDANA Benalmedana, a short drive away, is another beautiful marina resort. It has wonderful architecture around the marina and has been voted as the best marina in the world. It has a cable car that takes the public from the town up to the top of the mountain behind the town. From this there are stunning views along the coastline. Benalmedana is prestigious development with a wealth of shops, restaurants, bars, boutiques and the Sea Life Centre.
